| FAQS
Why does Welders Black Magic cost more
than conventional anti-spatters? Welders Black
Magic is an extremely expensive product to
manufacture, it is concentrated and is applied
sparingly, it sprays on, and stays on, outlasting
convertional anti-spatters that break down in the
intensive heat of welding by a ratio of 10 to 1.
That makes it less expensive to use per application
than conventional anti-spatters.
Can you paint over Welders Black Magic?
No, Welders Black Magic is designed to give ultimate
weld spatter protection, but must be removed before
painting.
How can Welders Black Magic be removed?
Welders Black Magic can be removed easily with
acetone or many commercially available solvents.
Is there any silicon in Welders Black
Magic that will cause fish eyes when painting?
No silicon is added to Welders Black Magic, but
trace elements may be inherant from various
components. Perform a paint test before painting for
effect.
What other applications can Welders Black
Magic be used for?
Welders Black Magic has a carbon base, which
produces an extremely slippery surface. There have
been reports of users moving heavy machinery across
cement floors sprayed with Welders Black Magic.
Other applications include: lubricating hinges,
cams, and other moving parts subjected to high heat
and frictional wear.
Can Welders Black Magic be welded
through?
Yes, in some cases you can weld through Welders
Black Magic when welding steel. However, care must
be taken when welding stainless steels subjected to
Mil Spec. Standards due to the fact that carbon
picked up during the welding process could cause
carbide precipitation.
Can I cut steel sprayed with Welders
Black Magic with a torch?
No, the carbon in Welders Black Magic will interfere
with the cutting operation and must be removed prior
to cutting.
